Little known facts that are really important

  1. If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee. - (Hardly seems worth it.)
  2. If you farted consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create the energy of an atomic bomb. - (Now that's more like it!)
  3. The human heart creates enough pressure when it pumps out to the body to squirt blood 30 feet. - (WOW!)
  4. A cockroach will live nine days without its head before it starves to death. (Creepy.)
  5. Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories a hour (Don't try this at home...)
  6. The male praying mantis cannot copulate while its head is attached to its body. The female initiates sex by ripping the male's head off. (Hmmm... so guys- aren't you glad you are no praying mantis??!!!)
  7. The flea can jump 350 times its body length. It's like a human jumping the length of a football field.
  8. The catfish has over 27,000 taste buds. (What could be so tasty on the bottom of a pond?)
  9. Some lions mate over 50 times a day. (Hmm... somethings your science teacher wont teach you...don't go telling your mother now..)
  10. Butterflies taste with their feet. (Something I always wanted to know.)
  11. The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue. (Hmmmmmm......)
  12. Right-handed people live, on average, nine years longer than left-handed people. (If you're ambidextrous, do you split the difference? So Andrew - switch)
  13. Elephants are the only animals that cannot jump. (okay, so that would be a good thing)
  14. A cat's urine glows under a black light. (I wonder who was paid to figure that out?and you say finding a job is difficult!!! what about Dog's poo?)
  15. An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain. ( I know some people like that.)
  16. Starfish have no brains. (I know some people like that too.HAHAHA)
  17. Polar bears are left-handed. (If they switch, they'll live a lot longer)

Interesting facts eh...so go make a difference.... cheers
Mikey.

Friendships Not Labeled.

Arlow Arlow!!

Whoa..It's been sometime I've came here and...quietnya. Haha!! *Where's everybody?*

Anyway, today was the first day I went to youth ever since it started..except the first one at the cafe. =P And, me think that today's session was pretty good. =) Thanks Uncle Michael.. Here are some friendship poems.

#1: Kindda summarises the list we had today. =)

You are friendly, kind and caring
Sensitive, loyal and understanding
Humorous, fun, secure and true
Always there... yes that's you.
Special, accepting, exciting and wise
Truthful and helpful, with honest blue eyes
Confiding, forgiving, cheerful and bright
Yes that's you... not one bit of spite.
You're one of a kind, different from others
Generous, charming, but not one that smothers
Optimistic, thoughtful, happy and game
But not just another... in the long chain.
Appreciative, warm and precious like gold
Our friendship won't tarnish or ever grow old
You'll always be there, I know that is true
I'll always be here... always for you.
- Angela Lee Hillsley -
#2: The best that I found. =)

Sometimes in life,
you find a special friend;
Someone who changes your life
just by being part of it.
Someone who makes you laugh
until you can't stop;
Someone who makes you believe
that there really is good in the world.
Someone who convinces you
that there really is an unlocked door
just waiting for you to open it.
This is Forever Friendship.
When you're down,
and the world seems dark and empty,
Your forever friend lifts you up in spirit
and makes that dark and empty world
suddenly seem bright and full.
Your forever friend gets you through
the hard times, the sad times,
and the confused times.
If you turn and walk away,
your forever friend follows.
If you lose your way
your forever friend guides you
and cheers you on.
Your forever friend holds your hand
and tells you that
everything is going to be okay.
And if you find such a friend,
you feel happy and complete,
because you need not worry.
You have a forever friend for life,
and forever has no end.

Cheers,
Eunice!! =)

Leadership Training - March 4, 2006

"What? Me a Leader? I am not qualified..."

"What? Me a Leader? I am not called....."

"What? Me a Leader? I am scared to commit"

"What? Me a Leader? Sure but it has to be my way..."

"What? Me a Leader? Find someone else..."

Have you ever felt like this before? feelings of inadequacy to be a leader? feeling pushed to the limits? feeling lost? feelings of fear? worried? not sure what to do?

Well, here's your chance to find out more about the big word "LEADERSHIP".

We are organising a Leadership Training on the 4th March in BSGC. We have invited a very gifted, talented and experienced Trainer from Australia to conduct a special program in BSGC!
Clayton Fergis is currently a Youth Ministry Coordinator with the Scripture Union International and he is based in Brisbane, Australia. He had been serving the Lord many years among youths and with Scripture Union.

In cojunction with Clayton's visit to Scripture Union Malaysia, he has graciously accepted our invitation to conduct this special workshop and seminar on Leadership, tentatively entitled "What? Me leader - Leadership Training for Emerging Leaders"

There will be games, drills, workshops, talks and shairing. Scripture Union Malaysia will also be joining us .

We would like to firstly encourgae ALL of you to take this opportunity to explore and learn. We would also like you to invite your christian friends from your school christian fellowships group, or even from other churhes.

You don't need to be a leader to come.

The Leadership Seminar begins at 9.30 and will stretched till lunch (Yup! Lunch is provided!!) Thereafter, we will be having workshops and games till 4pm. (The Schedule are subjected to changes but there shoouldn't be much - just probably the ending time.)

I will try to prepare the brochures and invitation leaflets and forms for you guys by this weekend... BUT Meanwhile, block the dates and Come and JOIN US.

OYA. I will also need some help with the organising - Any volunteers?

I need help in the following areas:

  1. Seminar Promoter - Brochure preparation, Sending out Forms & Invitation Letters
  2. Praise & Worship Coordinator
  3. Master of Ceremony/Meeting Chairman
  4. Audio/Video Coordinator - AV management and recording
  5. Food Coordinator (snacks, drinks, lunch, etc)
  6. Stationary Coordinator
  7. Transportation Coordinator
  8. Administrator
  9. Logistics Coordinator: tables, chairs, ppt slides,
  10. Games master
I cant do this alone. To make it successful, we need your participation and assistance. So drop me a mail at mr.michaelfun@gmail.com if you are able to help me in any one or more of the above areas...
