Fellowship Weekend

It was an amazing weekend. A total of 33 youths from Ipoh culminated in Bandar Sunway Gospel Centre and together with our 20 something youths and adults, we had lotsa fun!

We started the fellowship with lunch in church before going over to Sunway Pyramid for a treasure hunt in the mall! The youth loved it although some did complain that it was such a teasing experience as they could see all the "sales promotion" and could not do much about it....it was like so close yet so far.... and in the end they could just only whizz past the shops in dissapointment. Alas, everyone had fun although a slight confusion at the end where 3 teams who made it to the finish line ended up being "disqualified" as they skipped the two final vital stop points.... or rather they missed them!!! LOL but nevertheless, it was all fun and dandy at the end.

This was followed by some frienldy captainball matches and futsal. At this juncture, more friends formerly from Elim Ipoh who are now studying or working in KL joined up in BSGC for fellowship and swelled the total number of youths to well over 70!

We had dinner (mixed hawker food selection) and had 3 hours of games ("Whack", "Pile UP" and "Follow the Leader") which rounded up with a talent time contest. Some of BSGC youths joined the Elim folks in staying back in the church and most admitted sleeping at most 3 hours that night (or morning!) but all managed to wake up in time for worship (!!) and after the worship meeting, we had more fun playing "Body Parts" while waiting for the Bus to arrive.....

To round things up (since the bus were real late), we had a time of "reflection" which turned out to be more of an interview than anything else.... LOL

We had lotsa fun BUT most importantly, we learned the value of friendship and teamwork as all the games were tailored to reflect those lessons, and many new friendships were made.

Watch this space for the photos and video shoots of the weekend. We will try to make it available for download or on CD/DVD later.... (for those interested)...

Anyway, a word of thanks to all that helped out...esp... Eunice, Agnes, Kuan Cheen, Ian, Eu Chung, Amelia, Esther, Daniel, Tze Yuen, Joseph and Crystal (Hope I didnt missed anyone but if I did, please forgive this old man) - THANK YOU! and to those who came and made it so fun for everyone (I am also aware that you all helped out in many ways) .... GLAD YOU CAME - YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE! AND of course, a BIG THANK YOU to the church members (if you happened to drop in at this site) who contributed the food (the chai kueh teow, char siew pau, the chicken rice, fried rice, fried meehoon, church lunch, etc), loaned us the mattresses and stuffs, etc.... THANK YOU!

God Bless... watch out for the next event!
