1 Timothy facts

Some facts for you guys to start getting to know Timothy & the first Epistle (letter) to Timothy AND to start remembering....

1. Timothy's Family
• Mother = Eunice (Jew)
• Father is a Greek
• Grandmother = Lois
  
2. Timothy is well spoken of by the Church members in Lystra & Iconium
3. Timothy was chosen by Paul & Silas to follow on Paul's 2nd Missionary Journey
4. First mention of Timothy is in Acts 16:1
5. 1 Timothy is thought to be written in 63-65AD by Paul when he was in Philipi (Macedonia)
   
6. Timothy was physically infirm and suffered from stomach problems - presumably from a recurrent gastric problem.
   
7. Timothy is a very young leader. At the time of the letter, Timothy is estimated to be in his mid thirties.
8. Timothy is temperamentally shy, needing affirmation, encouragement & reassurance.
9. At the time of the Letter, Timothy is in Ephesus.
10. Paul is the author of the Letter.
