UPDATE: AYA Festival 2007

Hey Beautiful People,

How y'all doing?

Here's an update from Ps. Kenneth on the AYA Festival!

Dear Partners & Friends of AYA ,

We're happy to say that God has open doors for us these past one week with tremendous favour from individuals and corporations to help us bring cheer and change to those effected by the recent floods – especially the young people.

1) The Star has responded positively and expediently to our cause and has pledged editorial support for the upcoming fund-raising Concert and the NST is also very interested to help where they can

2) DiGi has promised us a minimum of 3,000 cool sling bags which we plan to give primary school going children after we have filled each with:
a) stationery (waiting for sponsor's final confirmation)
b) lollipops (from Famous Amos)
c) other goodies (still awaiting sponsors' reply)

3) The Education Ministry is willing to work with us on two focuses:
a) young people and school going children
b) "the schools are helping the victims (as places of refuge) but will anyone help the schools?" kind of idea generating discussion The Welfare and Community Department is happy with our focus on the youth, revealing to us that Corporate Malaysia has already responded overwhelmingly to all the other listed needs thus far

4) We'll be visiting Johor to hand out the "goodies" and hopefully we will also be able to bring along the dance team from New Zealand (who will be here for the Concert) with plans to entertain and bring cheer especially to the young people

5) At the Concert in February, we hope to:
a) Symbolically pray for Johor as we pray over the Johorian Christians
b) Pledge our support to work with the Church in Johor to bring relief
c) Receive latest information on how we can continue to effectively help the rebuilding work as volunteers and donors

Praise the Lord!! We'll keep you updated! The Concert is only days away. We hope to draw thousands and raise tens of thousands. Let's make this one count for the Church in Malaysia, for His Kingdom and for the precious lives of those affected by the floods!

Yours faithfully,

Ps. Kenneth Chin

So who is in the driving seat of your car?
Who is in control of your future??

Just make sure it's no Mat or Ms Rempit...

Youth meeting starts on 13 Jan

Hi people..... Youth meeting is still taking a break (ie Uncle Michael is still recuperating from camp... lol... Uncle not as young as before. after SADOODOO, back-ache, leg-ache, shoulder-ache... all mali... lol)

Anyway, I am also working on the new year's program and this year we will include some of the following in to the program, some from popular demand and some in preparation for the tournaments and contests... and of course some necessity to help each grow in your faith...

We should be expecting some talks on BGR (stands for "Better Games Required"... as if...), Sex, Homosexuality, Ghosts/Demons, Telling the future, ....

We will also be studying the book of Nehemiah in preparation for the Inter Church Bible Quiz and will continue our studies on Genesis when we are done with Nehemiah.

We will also be starting our preparation for the COPA IBA early this year. I am praying for us to have enough competing girls to send two teams for captain's ball... U-15 and U20. Maybe we could also send a football team and an ultimate frisbee team (Xavian - u in??? hahaha). So we are hoping to enlarge our delegation as well as to fill up our trophy cabinet (ahem... I already suggested to Uncle Chai to buy a trophy cabinet liao.. lol)

In order to run these programs and some other things that I have not mentioned yet (don't want to spoil the fun by telling all yet).. I need volunteers to come forward to help me plan and carry out the plans... any volunteers?? I need help especially in the song & worship leading area... games coordination, training coordination, transportation, reminder officers and publicity officer..... volunteers.... anyone???

till we meet again... hang in there... by the way, I hope you are making use of the gift from camp... you know.. the little red book called "Bible Bytes"...
