How y'all doing?
Here's an update from Ps. Kenneth on the AYA Festival!
Dear Partners & Friends of AYA ,
We're happy to say that God has open doors for us these past one week with tremendous favour from individuals and corporations to help us bring cheer and change to those effected by the recent floods – especially the young people.
1) The Star has responded positively and expediently to our cause and has pledged editorial support for the upcoming fund-raising Concert and the NST is also very interested to help where they can
2) DiGi has promised us a minimum of 3,000 cool sling bags which we plan to give primary school going children after we have filled each with:
a) stationery (waiting for sponsor's final confirmation)
b) lollipops (from Famous Amos)
c) other goodies (still awaiting sponsors' reply)
3) The Education Ministry is willing to work with us on two focuses:
a) young people and school going children
b) "the schools are helping the victims (as places of refuge) but will anyone help the schools?" kind of idea generating discussion The Welfare and Community Department is happy with our focus on the youth, revealing to us that Corporate Malaysia has already responded overwhelmingly to all the other listed needs thus far
4) We'll be visiting Johor to hand out the "goodies" and hopefully we will also be able to bring along the dance team from New Zealand (who will be here for the Concert) with plans to entertain and bring cheer especially to the young people
5) At the Concert in February, we hope to:
a) Symbolically pray for Johor as we pray over the Johorian Christians
b) Pledge our support to work with the Church in Johor to bring relief
c) Receive latest information on how we can continue to effectively help the rebuilding work as volunteers and donors
Praise the Lord!! We'll keep you updated! The Concert is only days away. We hope to draw thousands and raise tens of thousands. Let's make this one count for the Church in Malaysia, for His Kingdom and for the precious lives of those affected by the floods!
Yours faithfully,
Ps. Kenneth Chin
