Youth Saturday 18 April

The Resurrection of Jesus : No doubt about it!!

So yah... Good Friday came and gone.. Jesus died for you and me.. But on Easter Sunday, we celebrated His resurrection.. his what??? His resurrection, meaning Jesus rose from the dead.. or DID HE?

Maybe Jesus didn't really die....
Maybe He merely fainted.... or Maybe they switched him with someone else when Joseph came and helped him carry the cross to the Place of the Skull??

Maybe Jesus died, but His body was stolen??....

Maybe the Disciples, and the ladies went to the wrong tomb.....

Maybe Jesus reappeared as a ghost ??....

Maybe the Disciples and the Ladies were so emotionally depressed that they started to imagine they saw Jesus??

Find the answers to banish these disturbing thoughts this coming Saturday, 4pm...

By the way, "Why is the Resurrection of Jesus so important?"

The Death that makes a Difference

We can accept that Jesus really died on the cross because:

  1. Jesus' execution was performed by the ruling powers of the day: The Apostle John records that the crucifixion was performed on the hill of Golgotha (also called Calvary) overlooking Jerusalem during the Roman occupation of Israel, during the reign of Tiberius, and on the Day of Preparation, the Friday preceding the Jewish feast of Passover. Note that each of these times, people, and places can be found in other historical documents. (No Once upon a time here)
  2. Jesus' execution was consistent with centuries-old prophecy: John in John 19:31-42 gave an account of Jesus' death  that fulfilled the plans of God. John was careful to note that he is a truthful eyewitness and that what was happening to Jesus was the fulfillment of prophecies recorded long time before. Note the significance - Not only did the death of Christ occur at the hands of real people at a specific point in history, the event fulfilled prophecies of which the executioners (ie Romans) were UNAWARE..
  3. Jesus burial was consistent with the custom of the day: John detailed how Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus carefully brought down the body of Christ and took about 75 pound of myrrh and aloes mixture and wrapped the body of Jesus with the spices in strips of linen in accordance to Jewish burial customs AND in a NEW, UNUSED tomb. Such details would not be seen in a myth.
Did a man named Jesus literally die on a Roman cross?

Good Friday

Good Friday service was held in church at 8pm last Friday.

The theme was One Man..One Journey.. One Destiny..

The young adults were in charge of the whole program. They set up 10 stations - Stations of the Cross.

Station 1 - Last supper

Station 2 - 30 pieces

Station 3 - Gethesemane

Station 4 - Seized

Station 5 - Crucify Him!

Station 6 - King Of The Jews

Station 7 - The Place Of The Skull

Station 8 - Casting Lots

Station 9 - Come Down

Station 10 - The Mother of Jesus

It was a great experience being part of the story of His crucifixion. Pondering and reflecting on His great love and how He suffered for you and I.

Happy Easter!

God bless.

The death that makes a difference

The Crucifixion of Christ

In 1977, the first Star Wars episode made its debut in cinemas. Audience gasped in amazement as these first words scrolled across a starry background: "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..." Those words launched an epic story, spawning 6 episodes..but they also told us that the events that followed were not historical. Myths and fables take place in an undefined place at an undefined time.

Some would try to relegate the Good Friday and Easter Story as myths and fables. However, the story of the crucifixion and the resurrection of Christ is true because of the testimony of history, prophecy and culture.

The death of Jesus changed my life. Is Jesus making a change in your life today?

Come this saturday as we look into the death that makes a difference. We will discuss how to tell whether something is believable or not... we will learn to to defend the reliability of the account of Jesus' death and recognise the ways that Jesus' death changes lives.

4pm... BSGC... come as you are....

20 years on...

Here are a few photos taken when the youths were sharing about what they wanna be, who they wanna be, and what they THINK they will be in 20 years time.

See all the smiling faces?! Hahaaaa. We had fun :)

Andrew Ng? Heheee..

Michael Fun laughing at ppl :P

What about you? What will you be in 20 years time? Will you still stand strong on your faith? Will you still be attending church? All this, starts from NOW.
Continue skipping church, skipping youth, you'll end up ruining your life. Go figure.

God bless.

20 Years ON

Twenty Five years ago, I became a Christian this month.... It seemed like such a long time ago....

Twenty years ago, I was a mere teenager and had very little idea of what I wanted to do except "serve God somehow"...

Twenty years ago, I was trying to decide what I should do after my SPM exams.... IT studies, Accounting & Finance, Business studies???

Twenty years ago, I would never have imagined being a Deacon of a church...

Twenty years ago, I would never have thought I would be involved in youth ministry as I am now...

Twenty years ago, I would never have thought I wold have the courage to open and own my own business...

Twenty years ago...

"TWENTY YEARS ON"
Where would you be or What would you be doing TWENTY years from now??

This saturday... 4pm.... we want to find answers to 3 main questions...

1. What important things should we do no which will determine who we are in the future?
2. How does God view our future?
3. What do we do now to ensure a fulfilled life in the future?

See ya....
